My Turn

I’m experiencing a new opportunity that feels especially meaningful in this season of my life. The kind of open door that makes you pause and whisper, “Thank You, Lord.”

And for a recent moment, I found myself thinking, It’s finally my turn.

Because we’re so human, it’s often easier to feel and name the big blessings that come our way. The ones that feel so much larger than life that they also feel particularly significant.

But then, as I sat with that thought, another one quietly followed.

Perhaps this isn’t about finally getting a turn.

Perhaps it’s about recognizing the difference between a new blessing and a first blessing.

The opportunity that has come my way is indeed a new blessing, and a beautiful one. It feels meaningful, hard-earned, and deeply connected to the experiences that have shaped me over the years. For that, I am profoundly grateful.

But this isn’t my first turn.

When I look back over my life, I can see that God has been giving me turns all along.

From my very first days as a little one to the woman I am today, God’s goodness has been present throughout my journey. Even in seasons that felt ordinary, difficult, or uncertain, He has blessed me with turns each step of the way. Turns that have been in . . .

Every open door, and closed doors, too.

Every lesson learned, including the hard ones.

Every season I survived and challenge that strengthened me.

Every relationship that encouraged me.

Every answered prayer.

So, yes, this new opportunity does feel different and meaningful. But it is not the beginning of God’s faithfulness in my life. It’s another beautiful reminder of it.

The honest-to-goodness truth is that God has been writing a story of grace in all our lives, all along. And if we pause long enough to notice, we’ll discover that we’ve had more turns, fueled by His grace, than we ever realized.

What has been one of your “turns?” I’d love to hear your story. 🤎
