Not Too Late

Can I be honest? At this stage in life, I sometimes feel like the clock is ticking louder than ever. And family health challenges this year have added to the quiet pressure of time.

I often reflect: How much time do I truly have left to manifest the dreams God planted in me years ago?

One of those dreams is to write a book series  — not for my glory, but for His. I know God has called me to write it. Yet, it’s been slow going, and at times I catch myself thinking, “Maybe it’s too late.”

But here’s what I’m learning: Those thoughts aren’t the end of the story. They’re simply reminders that dreams don’t come with an expiration date when they’re planted by God. What feels “too late” to us is often right on time with God. And, ultimately, it’s about His time – not ours.

Here’s the truth I’m holding onto: It’s not too late, and neither am I. And neither are you . . .

. . . who dreams of creating

. . . who dreams of traveling

. . . who dreams of going back to school

. . . who dreams of leading

. . . who dreams of loving and being loved

. . . who dreams of living life more fully

Whatever your dream, the time you have is still enough for God to work wonders through you.

So, if you’ve ever felt the weight of time pressing down on your dreams, take heart. Our calendars and clocks don’t limit God. What He plants in us, He waters in His perfect season. If we’re on this side of eternity, we can still begin, pick back up, or trust Him to carry the dream through.

It’s not too late, friends. Onward we go, one step at a time. And, I’m rooting for you and for me along the way.
xoxo

My sweet SisterCousinFriend 😘 you are always on time. I have finally set into motion what I have been calling my “Divine Assignment.” It is something God put on my heart long ago, and it soon fell into the “I’ll get to it” pile. Because… life. Well of course, God sent his nudges over the years. Some obvious, some under the radar (if you weren’t really paying attention). Eventually, it got too loud to ignore. I have officially entered my “tests into testimony” season. I can only hope that my obedience is pleasing in His sight. Thanks for rooting for me. You know I’m FOREVER rooting for you! 🫶🏾🙌🏾👏🏾🙏🏾 #nevertoolate

  7. Good post, Karin.

This is a great reminder of how we need to accept that the Almighty has a reason for all our seasons, which is part of a really long list of “Easier said than Done” items in our individual bucket list.
For me, becoming more patient and intentional about connecting with those who God has put in my path, whose presence and purpose make me complete, is what your post says to me specifically. And I need to be better at accepting this, regardless of how perfectly imperfect that may jive with this little thing we like to call reality.

Jesus reminds his disciples in Acts 1:7 that there are things that they don’t know that only our Heavily Father has access to. But that shouldn’t deter them from their purpose.

This is good food for thought, Karin.

    Thank you.

    1. I truly appreciate all you shared in reflecting. Trusting God’s wisdom and divine timing – especially with our unrealized dreams – can feel like a pretty tall order. It also can help settle our souls with a knowing that all is and will be well when we partner with Him to make those dreams come true.

Lifting up a soul-filled Amen to abiding trust and faith for all of us chasing and working on our dreams!
