I thank the Creator of the universe for another rotation around the sun today. While I’m a low-key introvert who is happy to celebrate my birthday quietly, I don’t take my special day each year for granted.
So many so dear to me are no longer here. Others born the same year have flown high, far away with the angels. Yet others my age are still here, sparring regularly with health challenges to stay on this side of eternity.
Nope, I don’t take birthdays for granted.
Instead, I’m resolved to embrace each day, and especially birthdays, in joy.
The world will often distract us and make us feel otherwise. It can pull and nudge and trip us up in ways that bring us down. That’s just life. But, birthdays have an extra-special way of reminding us how precious life really is, how each of our lives holds its own significance and purpose in this world.
So especially today, I will . . .
~ walk in joy,
~ run in joy,
~ laugh in joy,
~ cry in joy,
~ work in joy,
~ rest in joy,
~ dream in joy,
~ simply be in joy.
And sincere air hugs for so many well wishes today! I gratefully receive them all – you guessed it – in joy.
